Next up we wanted to compare two of the world’s most popular men’s hair styling products, American Crew Fiber VS Hairbond United Kingdom Sea Salt Spray
Many products have battled out for best matte look product and today we look at two best selling products from two huge International brands. But which is the best, we would like to know!
Will it be the Texturiser Professional Sea Salt Spray Made by UK manufacturers Hairbond United Kingdom, or Fiber by American Crew?
But first, who are American Crew and Hairbond United Kingdom?

American Crew say they have been redefining what it means to be a well-groomed man and as the global leader in men’s grooming and the “Official Supplier to Men”, they have anongoing commitment to elevating men’s style and enhancing their personal image by providing education and marketing which shares the brands’ vision.
Hairbond United Kingdom, on the other hand, say with Great Britain being at the centre of the fashion world, they can claim rich customs and heritage that are connected with it. This brand says their products are not just a commodity but are a lifestyle essential. Their aim was to launch the highest quality brand with a superb range of products that prove that British haircare is truly the very best in the world. The Hairbond range has intended to deliver its promise of quality by maintaining the highest possible standards, using top of the range product formulations and ingredients to create an authentic British solution for the ultimate hairstyling results.
Lets take a look, each category will be marked out of 5, first up is the Hairbond Texturiser Sea Salt Spray!

Hairbond United Kingdom Texturiser Sea Salt Spray

Packaging:
Classy. Like all the other Hairbond products this packaging looks like glass when it is actually in fact plastic. The actual spray pump is protected by a plastic cap. Pump action is great and distributes just the right amount in each squirt. 5/5
Application:
As mentioned, easy distribution made easy by quality pump. For men with short hair, 2 squirts will do it, as your hair length gets longer, apply more squirts. 5/5
Finish:
This is so versatile. You can either use a hairdryer or not, depending on what you want to do. If you’re using a dryer you can enhance curls, you can straighten curls out, you can add tonnes of volume to thinning hair, or if you’re going to that 100% authentic beach hair finish as if you’ve just got out the sea, spray, scrunch and leave.. 5/5
Consistency:
Water. 5/5
Hold:
Strong matte effect once dry 5/5
Overall:
5/5 full house!
What They Say
“Purpose One of the many benefits of a trip abroad to a sun-soaked sandy shore is the impressive appearance your hair gains from spending a day splashing about in the sea. Hairbond Texturiser Professional Sea Salt Spray has been designed to replicate the dishevelled and ultra-fashionable appearance that previously required a visit to the beach to gain; providing body and impressive texture with just one application. Excelling in all hair types regardless of gender, the spray is suitable for the summer thanks to its long-term inbuilt protection against UV damage.
Method Shake the Hairbond Texturiser Professional Sea Salt Spray well before use and spray over towel dried hair. Beginning at the roots, apply through to lengths and ends for texture and scrunch to enhance curls.
Why it Works Hairbond Texturiser Professional Sea Salt Spray is a styling success thanks to carefully selected Copolymers which instill texture into hair and retain your new look throughout the day. The UV protection within the spray also contributes to its retention of your newly sexed up, texturized appearance in the healthiest manner possible.”
Lets see how the American Crew Fiber can compete with that!

American Crew Fiber

Packaging:
American Crew Fiber on packaging is a bit disappointing. With American Crew dating back to the 90’s I wouldnt be surprised if this packaging hadn’t been changed within the last 25 years. Outdated. 2/5.
Application:
Easy to break down in palms. Waxy feel distributes evenly through the hair. Not bad. 3/5
Finish:
Acting more like a wax than anything else, you can abtain a nice matte finish with small amounts but use too much and can start to look a bit greasy. 3/5
Consistency:
Easy scoop. Nice consistency for the product type. Prefer it if it felt a bit less waxy. 4/5
Hold:
Decent in short hair. Anthing longer than 4 inches becomes less effective. 3/5
Overall:
3/5
What They Say
“Fiber-like, resinous product helps thicken, texturize and increase fullness to hair. Provides a strong, pliable hold with a matte finish. Works well in shorter hair, 1-3 inches in length. For high hold with low shine.”

Scoring full marks, the Hairbond Texturiser Sea Salt Spray champions over American Crew’s Fiber with a perfect overall score of 5/5.
