We all love new to market hair styling products, right? I’m excited to announce that this is an exclusive brand battle featuring the brand spanking new matte product, Hairbond Super Professional Hair Fibre which hasn’t even officially come out yet. The Hairbond Super Fibre is being launched alongside another new product, Hairbond Power Professional Hair Wax and they are likely to hit barbershop and salon shelves just in time for Christmas. The team at Hairbond have been kind enough to send me a couple of prototypes for testing in preparation for their big pre-Christmas launch party. What better way to compare them but to put them up against one of the most popular selling matte products on the market. Today we will fight it out, American Crew Fiber VS Hairbond United Kingdom Super Professional Hair Fibre.

We will find out which product ranks better under evaluation from the 7 main categories, packaging, application, finish, consistency, hold, overall and what each brand has to say about their product.
What will rank higher? Will it be Hairbond’s new release, or Fiber by American Crew?
Before we decide, lets check out who these brands are and what they claim.
American Crew is a huge multinational corporation who say they have been redefining what it means to be a well-groomed man and as the global leader in men’s grooming and the “Official Supplier to Men”, they have an ongoing commitment to elevating men’s style and enhancing their personal image by providing education and marketing which shares the brands’ vision.
Hairbond United Kingdom, on the other hand are a smaller international family firm who only specialise in quality premium products. They say with Great Britain being at the centre of the fashion world, they can claim rich customs and heritage that are connected with it. This brand says their products are not just a commodity but are a lifestyle essential. Their aim was to launch the highest quality brand with a superb range of products that prove that British haircare is truly the very best in the world. The Hairbond range has intended to deliver its promise of quality by maintaining the highest possible standards, using top of the range product formulations and ingredients to create an authentic British solution for the ultimate hairstyling results.
Let’s take a look, each category will be marked out of 5, first up is the Hairbond Super Professional Hair Fibre!

Hairbond Super Professional Hair Fibre

Packaging:
As always Hairbond are known for their quality packaging. The new Hairbond Super comes in their amazing 100ml jar, this time with a red font. All their flavours come in the same packaging but with a different coloured crest and font. If you’re a Hairbond fan, you might remember one of their original launches which also had the red colouring – the Hairbond Sculptor which was eventually discontinued when they made a new paraben and sulphate free policy. Glad to see the red back! 5/5
Application:
Smoother than smooth. This formulation has one major key ingredient which helps make the application process an absolute breeze. Keratin is a type of protein which actually makes your hair smoother and stronger. I’ve never seen this before in a hair fibre. Works great! 5/5
Finish:
Soft, matte look, use in conjunction with a hairdryer for best results. 5/5
Consistency:
Smooth and pliable. 4/5
Hold:
Strong 4/5 matte effect. 4/5
Overall:
4/5
What They Say
Lets see how the American Crew Fiber can compete with that!

American Crew Fiber

Packaging:
American Crew Fiber some might say timeless but I think rather outdated although I’ve always quite liked the American Crew logo 2/5.
Application:
Breaksdown well. Some tug and pull in my thick medium-long hair. 3/5
Finish:
Nice matte look. Had better. Don’t use too much it will start to look greasy. 3/5
Consistency:
Nice consistancy. 4/5
Hold:
Anything longer than 4 inches starts to droop. 3/5
Overall:
3/5
What They Say
“Fiber-like, resinous product helps thicken, texturize and increase fullness to hair. Provides a strong, pliable hold with a matte finish. Works well in shorter hair, 1-3 inches in length. For high hold with low shine.”

And the winner is..

Scoring an impressive 4/5 overall, the new Hairbond Super Professional Hair Fibre will go far. On this occasion, it beats one of the best selling matte products on the market only ranking a standard 3/5.
